California Partnership Program for Long Term Care

The California Partnership for Long Term Care is a program designed to assist Californians with quality Long Term Care Insurance protection, without being forced to spend down your assets for LTC, this feature is called "Lifetime Asset Protection", and it works like this. When you start using your Partnership policy it will pay for your care in the same manner as a traditional Long Term Care Insurance Insurance policy however unlike traditional LTC Insurance policies the CA Partnership policy entitles you to keep each dollar for every dollar that your policy pays out in benefits for if you ever need to apply for Medi-Cal services. This protects you from having to "spend down" your savings to poverty level.

California's Department of Health Services and a select number of private insurance companies have worked together to offer high quality Partnership Policies. California Partnership policies must include built-in inflation protection, care coordination, a waiver of premium, and minimum daily benefit amount of $180 effective 2012.
