Is my Premium Due when I am on Claim?

Most, though not all policies have what is called a "waiver of premium" benefit (sometimes called premium waiver).

When your policy has premium waiver, once you are receiving payments you no longer have to pay premiums. This may waive premium for home care only, facility care only, or any type of care.

Additionally, if you and a spouse/significant other have policies through the same insurer, there may be a premium waiver if one spouse passes away. This can provide spouses with peace of mind, knowing that, when one passes away, the survivor will not have to pay future long term care insurance premiums.
